The Proving Ground’s monthly rehearsal packages give you guaranteed studio time without locking you into a rigid weekly schedule.

Use your hours however they work best for you—weekly rehearsals, longer sessions before a show, or shorter sessions throughout the month.

Package pricing gives you a lower effective hourly rate than booking individual rehearsal hours while providing the consistency of a recurring monthly commitment.

• No required number of sessions

• Choose your own dates and session lengths

• Use your hours throughout the month however you need

• Minimum of 2.5 hours per individual session

• Maximum of 6 hours per individual session

• Recurring rehearsal times may be reserved when available

• Additional hours can be booked at the regular $35/hour rehearsal rate

Monthly package hours are reserved specifically for package members and are subject to studio availability.

Once a rehearsal time is reserved, the studio's standard cancellation policy applies. Late cancellations or no-shows may result in the reserved hours being forfeited.

Package hours cannot be exchanged for cash or transferred to another client without prior approval.

• Availability & Rollover: Monthly rehearsal hours are intended to be used within the month purchased. Package hours do not roll over into the following month due to lack of client use. The studio will make every reasonable effort to provide sufficient availability for the client to use their full allotment of hours. If the studio is unable to provide enough available hours during the month for the client to use their full allotment, any unused hours resulting specifically from the studio’s lack of availability may be rolled over into the following month. Rollover hours apply only in this circumstance and do not otherwise accumulate or carry forward. The studio will make every reasonable effort to accommodate scheduling needs and provide opportunities to use all purchased hours.

• In exceptional circumstances beyond the client’s reasonable control, such as a significant illness, injury, or other emergency, the studio may approve a rollover of unused hours at its discretion. Reasonable documentation may be requested when appropriate. Any approved exception applies only to the circumstances for which it was granted and does not create an ongoing rollover entitlement.

Upgrade your rehearsal to recording and take home a multitrack recording of your session. Listen back to exactly what you played, identify parts that need work, review arrangements, practice along with the recording, and document your progress from rehearsal to rehearsal.

Recording Upgrade — $50/hour

If you decide during your rehearsal that you'd like to record, the session can be transitioned into a recording session.

Once the recording upgrade begins, all remaining time in that session is billed at $50/hour, regardless of how long you ultimately record.

This includes the time required to transition from the rehearsal setup into the recording setup.

Why Does the Transition Take Time?

A rehearsal setup and a recording setup are not the same thing.

Recording may require:

• Additional microphones and microphone placement

• Input and signal routing

• Headphone setup

• Individual level checks

• Recording-session preparation

• Instrument and room adjustments

• Communication between the musicians and engineer

The transition is paid studio time. If you decide to start recording with one hour remaining in your rehearsal, that remaining hour becomes recording time at $50/hour, including the time spent getting the recording setup ready.

The transition can be much faster when the entire band participates. Having everyone available to help with instrument changes, microphone placement, headphone connections, and level checks allows the studio to get from rehearsal mode to recording mode more efficiently.
